### Situation & Strategy

During my [Bachelor of Science in Event Management](/work/tedx-hapennybridge) at the [Dublin Institute of Technology](https://www.tudublin.ie/) ([DIT](https://www.tudublin.ie/)), I didn't just want to sit in lectures. I wanted practical, hands-on experience, so I took on executive roles within the [DIT](https://www.tudublin.ie/) Societies structure.

### Tactics

I immersed myself in the [DIT](https://www.tudublin.ie/) Societies Forum. I eventually ran for Vice President and was elected to act as second-in-command for the entire society ecosystem, advising Chairpersons and representing students on [DIT](https://www.tudublin.ie/) committees.

### Action

I served for over 3 years as Chairperson and Events Officer for the [DIT](https://www.tudublin.ie/) Fashion Society. I organized castings, rehearsals, and our flagship Vodafone [DIT](https://www.tudublin.ie/) Fashion Show, running the marketing, accounting, and team management.

### Results

- Won "Best Publicity Campaign" and "Best Event" at the Vodafone [DIT](https://www.tudublin.ie/) Fashion Show (2015).

- Successfully chaired [DIT](https://www.tudublin.ie/) Societies Forum meetings, handling operations, budgets, and governance for new societies.

- Built my foundation in leadership, event management, and stakeholder coordination before I even graduated.
