Inceno (Startup)
€13,000 funding, WebSummit 2017 presenter
Founded an Irish startup to verify restaurant reviews, pitching at international competitions and securing early seed funding.
Situation & Strategy
In 2016, I founded Inceno, an Irish startup built to give consumers and restaurant managers a way to verify reviews. My goal was to take the product from an idea to a market-ready platform while securing early-stage investment.
Tactics
As Founder, my approach was to validate the market quickly with real customers, execute a 12-month plan, and pitch the startup at national and international competitions to raise capital and build connections.
Action
I designed and tested the UX for our mobile and web apps and oversaw the brand development. I interviewed 140 industry stakeholders and pitched to investors at multiple competitions, including WebSummit 2017 in Lisbon.
Results
- Secured €13,000 in early-stage funding.
- Won 2nd Place at the Irish Student Entrepreneurship Fund (ISEF) in 2017.
- Reached the finals of the Accenture Leaders of Tomorrow (2017) and completed New Frontiers Phase 1.
- Built a validated product that actually bridged the trust gap between restaurants and their customers.
This case is written to the same four-part structure as 7 others. Read any one phase across all 8.
